First Time Setup
Before using the iCMP for the first time, it needs to be charged for a minimum of 3 hours (6 hours is a full charge).
Note: DO NOT use an iPad charging brick to charge the Ingenico reader, as it is too powerful. A phone charging brick can be used or a computer USB port.
- Plug the included micro USB cable into the charging port.
- Plug the other end of the micro USB cable into the included USB external power supply or a computer.
Pairing Ingenico iCMP Credit Card Reader with the iPad
Note: The reader must be unpaired from the current device before it can be connected to a new device.
1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth on the iPad to ensure it is enabled.
2. Turn on the reader by pressing the power button above the micro USB port.
3. When BT Pairing Required appears on the screen, press the F1 button to begin.
4. Find the iPad by pressing F2 (down) and F3 (up) keys on the reader.
5. Press the green button to find the BT Pairing Pin.
6. On the iPad, a popup will appear. Enter in the PIN from the reader and press Done on the iPad.
7. Under Devices on the iPad, a device labeled 'iCM…' will appear and the reader will show an Ingenico logo.
Note: The devices must be paired within a minute of initiating the process.
Basic Functions of Ingenico iCMP Credit Card Reader
Turning the iCMP On
- Press the button on the right side above the micro USB port.
- Wait for the reader to boot up. It will show an Ingenico logo.
Turning the iCMP Off
- Unplug the credit card reader from power.
- Simultaneously, hold down the yellow < key and the .,#* key on the reader for a few seconds.
Accepting Credit Cards
Swipe
- Ring up a credit transaction as normal.
- With the card stripe facing up, swipe the card through the top slot of the reader.
- Wait for payment to be approved and continue closing the transaction as normal.
Apple Pay & Contactless
- Ring up a credit transaction as normal.
- At the register (within 1″ of the card reader), once the credit is selected, the iPhone will open Passbook automatically so the customer can tap on the credit card to be used.
- Customer holds iPhone near or on the credit card reader while touching the home button on their phone.
- Customer waits for a slight vibration, a checkmark on the screen and a beep for confirmation of payment initiation.
- Wait for payment to be approved and continue with closing the transaction as normal.
