Description: Customers can receive SMS (text message) alerts from the KDS as the order is completed and ready for pickup. The alert can be sent from the Subvendor or Vendor KDS account. The feature can be used for Interact web, Kiosk, Mobile and Classic Activate orders.
Note: The ability to enter a phone number must be enabled in order for the customer to see the prompt.
Configure Subvendor Alerts
A message can be sent when moving the order to In Process or Completed on the Subvendor KDS account. The confirmation code for the order will be included in each text message along with the custom or default text.
- Log in to Connect and navigate to Vendors.
- Search for and select the Subvendor to edit.
- Select the Pencil icon to edit the SMS notification setting.
- Once enabled, additional settings will populate to configure.
- Select the Pencil icon to edit.
- Pickup Text Message: Customize the message sent to customers.
- SMS On In Process Custom Message Text: Customize a message to send once the order is In Process at the Subvendor KDS.
- SMS On Completed Custom Message Text: Customize a message to send once the order is Completed at the Subvendor KDS.
- Select Enter/Return on the keyboard after entering the text to Save.
Configure Vendor Alerts
- Log in to Connect.
- Select Vendors in the left side menu.
- Search for and select the Vendor to edit.
- Configure the SMS settings on the Details tab.
- Select the Pencil icon to edit the options.
- Send SMS on Completed: Enable/Disable SMS sent to the guest on orders deemed as Completed status.
- SMS On Completed Custom Message Text: Customize a message to send once the order is Completed at the Subvendor KDS.
- Send SMS on In Process: Enable/Disable SMS sent to the guest on orders deemed as In Progress status.
- SMS On In Process Custom Message Text: Customize a message to send once the order is In Process at the Subvendor KDS.
Configure Vendor Roles Alerts
- Log in to Connect and click Options in the left side menu.
- Select Vendor Roles from the menu.
- Search for and select the Vendor Role to edit.
- Select the Mobile Ordering Options tab.
- Select the Pencil icon to edit the SMS options.
- Pickup Text Message: Customize the text that will be sent to customers with pickup details.
- SMS on In Progress: Enable/Disable SMS sent to the guest on orders deemed as In Progress status.
- Select Enter/Return on the keyboard after entering the text to Save.
