PAX Communication Error
Check the Network settings:
- Confirm the POS has the correct Device Network Address.
- On the Pin pad Check the device's network status using the network settings guide listed above to get to the LAN Parameters Menu.
- Ensure that the device has a Static IP mode to avoid having the IP change. The devices should pull the network information from DHCP initially, but in some cases it is worth checking the Subnet Mask and the Gateway IP address to make sure they are correct. A discrepancy here can cause problems even if the IP address is set correctly in both places.
Check the ECR Com Type:
If the network address is correct but it still does not receive a connection from the POS:
- In the Home screen, select the Menu button.
- Enter the password, then select OK. The default is the current date in an MM/DD/YYYY format.
- Select ECR Comm Settings.
- Select Ethernet or Wi-Fi to toggle between on and off. A gray slider indicates the Disabled option and a blue slider indicates Enabled.
