Remove or Install the VP3300 Onyx EMV Magnetic Stripe Reader

Description: This article covers the process of removing or installing the VP3300 Onyx EMV Magnetic Stripe Reader (MSR) from the POS terminal.

1. Gently place the POS system face down on the screen. We recommend placing a soft cloth underneath the screen in order to prevent any damage to the system.
2. Once face-down, identify the VP3300 unit (swiper unit), along with the screw(s) located in their respective housings.
   
3. Carefully remove the first cover from the unit.
   
   Important: DO NOT PULL ON THE EMV READER UNIT.
   
4. Gently unplug the unit from the gold color connector on the right side of the EMV reader unit.
   
5. Move the EMV READER unit gently to the side in order to expose the next set of Screw housings.
   
   Important: The EMV READER is attached by a cable, do not pull and or break the cable.
   
6. Remove the screws, and pull the entire unit out of the POS system until it comes out of the housing. (You will see the USB connector appear).
