Description: The Seiko RP-D10 has a Windows utility that can be used to modify some basic settings. This is used for setting up a virtual serial port for use with the Hospitality or QSR software. There are more settings that almost never need to be modified, but in some situations, the wrong settings may end up on the printer, and in this case, it is necessary to modify the memory switches on the printer using the built-in settings menu.
Enter Settings Mode
In order to enter the settings menu on the printer:
- Power the printer down.
- Once the printer is powered off, press down the Feed button.
- While holding the Feed button, press the On/Off button.
- Continue holding the Feed button. This will print a long strip of paper with the current device settings.
- Continue holding the Feed button even after the strip prints.
- After about 3 seconds, another small slip will come out that says “[Enter Setting Mode].”
- After about 3 seconds, another small slip will come out that says “[Enter Setting Mode].”
- Release the Feed button, and then press the Feed button again to enter the settings menu.
Access MS5 Settings
Once you’re in the menu, you will see a listing of the different memory switches you can access.
These control a variety of different functions on the printer. The long slip of paper printed in the previous step lists the settings which can be changed in each category. In particular, we are interested in the settings contained in the MS5 menu.
To access a selection in the list:
- Press the Feed button the number of times listed on the left side of the slip.
- For MS5, press Feed 5 times, then press the Power button.
