Description: Learn how to set up and manage tip settings, including Global Tip Hints, in the Shift4 Dine Customer Hub to streamline configuration for new receipt printers and centralize tip management before using the Workstation.
Overview
Shift4 Dine tip settings, including Tip Hints, can be configured in the Customer Hub. You can manage tip settings in the Customer Hub ahead of time, so that the new receipt printers are ready with the correct tips when the Workstation is used.
Global Tip Hints configured in the Customer Hub become the default for all new receipt printers created in Shift4 Dine version 1.120.0 or later.
Access Tip Settings in the Customer Hub
- Navigate to Location > Tips.
- Update tip settings as needed.
- Select Save.
These settings mirror those found on the Workstation under: Manager > Settings > Business > Advanced > Tips.
Notes:
- Existing receipt printers keep their current Tip Hint settings and will default to Override Tip Hints.
- Show Tip Hints must be configured at the individual printer level on the Workstation.
After configuring Tip Hints in the Customer Hub, you can manage and override these settings directly on the Workstation. Visit the Manage Tip Hints article for instructions.
