Description: Learn how to add loyalty members to a ticket, view available points and rewards, and redeem loyalty discounts during checkout on SkyTab POS.
Note: This feature is currently available only for Pilot users.
Overview
Once Shift4 Loyalty is enabled on SkyTab POS, staff can attach loyalty members to tickets so customers earn points and redeem rewards during transactions.
Note: Loyalty must be enabled in SkyTab POS settings before it can be used during transactions.
Add a Loyalty Member to a Ticket
When loyalty is enabled, a Loyalty button appears on the order screen.
To add a loyalty member to a ticket:
- Start a new ticket or open an existing ticket.
- Select the Loyalty button at the bottom of the screen.
- The "Search Loyalty" modal will appear.
- Search for the customer using one of the following:
- Phone Number: Enter the customer’s phone number using the keypad.
- Scan Code: Scan a QR code from the customer’s mobile loyalty app or physical card.
- Card Number: Enter the loyalty card number if the customer has a physical card.
- Email: Search using the customer’s email address.
- Select LOOKUP, or if you need to continue without adding a loyalty member, select SKIP.
Review Loyalty Summary
After a successful lookup, the Loyalty Summary screen displays the customer’s loyalty information.
Loyalty Summary includes:
- Customer name and contact details
- Total available loyalty points
- List of available rewards and point requirements
- Expiration dates for time-limited rewards (if applicable)
Important: Rewards cannot be applied at this stage. Rewards are redeemed on the tender/payment screen only.
Select OK to add the loyalty member to the ticket and continue taking the order.
Redeem Loyalty Rewards at Checkout
After all items are added, proceed to the tender screen to redeem rewards.
To apply a loyalty reward:
- On the Tender screen, select LOYALTY at the top of the payment options.
- Review the available rewards and points.
- Select the reward the customer wants to redeem.
- The discount is automatically applied to the ticket.
- Complete payment as usual.
Total Loyalty Points Available is included on the receipt when one is printed.
Best Practices for Staff
Maximize Customer Engagement
- Ask every customer if they’re enrolled in the loyalty program.
- If a customer isn’t enrolled, direct them to scan the QR code to enroll on their mobile device.
- Inform customers of their current points balance and available rewards.
- Let customers know how close they are to earning their next reward.
Ensure a Smooth Transaction
- Add the loyalty member at the beginning of the order to ensure points are tracked.
- Review available rewards before processing payment.
- Confirm which reward the customer wants to redeem if multiple options are available.
- Verify the discount is applied before completing the transaction.
