Can the device take payments anywhere?
Yes! As long as mobile data coverage is available, the device can be used for click and connect, delivery.
How do I initiate a payment on the device?
Initiating a payment is easy and convenient: simply enter the payment amount on the main screen and press the Pay button. The device will then prompt the customer to use their preferred payment method.
Does the device batch out automatically?
Yes! You can set the timing for groups of finalized transactions to be automatically sent for processing.
How do payments from Shift4 work?
When processing payments with Shift4, we collect your data transactions from 00:00-23:59. After calculating your fees, the net amount from these transactions is paid to your bank account as a settlement payment. The daily settlements are:
- Paid on every bank day for payments made during the previous banking day.
- Not made on weekends and bank holidays.
- Paid on the next banking day for payments made before a non-banking day.
- Paid as a combined settlement with the next banking day for payments made on a non-banking day.
Can I use the device without a Wi-Fi connection?
Yes! The device is designed to work out of the box, without the need for Wi-Fi. It is equipped with a SIM card and can be used as a payment device at all times.
Does the device support Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC)?
Yes! If the card is detected as a foreign currency card eligible for currency conversion, the customer will be prompted with a choice between paying in the local currency or in the cardholder’s currency. Both daily exchange rates are clearly displayed.
Does the device support Tax Free Shopping?
Yes! After a transaction is approved, the Eligibility Detection Module will determine if the customer is eligible for Tax Free shopping. If the customer is eligible, an opt-in screen will appear to begin the process.
What is Demo Mode?
Demo Mode is a great tool to train you and your staff. Remember, demo mode will not capture any transactions, so make sure you turn demo mode off when you are ready to go live!
Does the device support manual key entry?
Yes! Although the risks of increased fraud and chargebacks should be considered before enabling, the device does completely support the manual entry of card information.
What options does the device have for receipts?
After the transaction is approved, the customer is presented with options for a print receipt, email receipt, text receipt, or no receipt. These options can be configured in Lighthouse.
I have issues with my Tax Free Shopping invoice.

How can I check that a specific traveler has been refunded?
Tax Free shoppers can check their refund status within seconds through their Global Blue app or by accessing Mobile Customer Care from the email they received. If your client doesn’t have access to these options, feel free to scan the QR code (or email contacttaxfree.es@globalblue.com) and our team will gladly help you.
