Configure Tip Settings on SkyTab Mobile

Tip Settings Access

Only users with admin or manager permissions can update tip settings.

If you’re unable to change tip settings (they appear read-only, like in the image below), you may not have the required permissions.

Tip Configuration

On SkyTab Mobile:

1. Log in to SkyTab Mobile.
2. Select your employee name in the top left corner of the home screen.
3. Select Settings.
4. Select Tips.
   
5. Enable Tip Screen (Toggle): Controls whether the tip prompt appears during checkout.
   • On: Customers are prompted to add a tip during checkout.
   • Off: The tip screen is skipped.
     
6. Force Tip Selection (Toggle): Requires customers to make a tip selection before proceeding.
   • When enabled, customers must choose a tip option or explicitly select no tip before continuing.

7. Three tip percentage options can be configured to meet your business needs.
   • The Default tip is automatically selected if the customer does not choose a different option.
     
   • Include Taxes (Toggle): Controls whether tips are calculated on the total, including tax.
     • On: Tips are calculated on the total amount, including taxes.
     • Off: Tips are calculated on the subtotal, before taxes.
   • Include Discounts (Toggle): Controls whether discounts are applied before tip calculation.
     • On: Discounts are applied before calculating tips.
     • Off: Discounts are applied after calculating tips.

In Lighthouse Business Manager (LBM):

1. Log in to LBM.
2. Select Devices > SkyTab Mobile from the left navigation menu.
   
3. Enable Tip Screen (Toggle): Controls whether the tip prompt appears during checkout.
   • On: Customers are prompted to add a tip during checkout.
   • Off: The tip screen is skipped.
4. Force Tip Selection (Toggle): Requires customers to make a tip selection before proceeding.
   • When enabled, customers must choose a tip option or explicitly select no tip before continuing.

6. Select Save Changes.

Tip Flow During Checkout

When the Tips feature is enabled, the customer will see the "Add Tip" option on the Pay Now menu.

Customers can choose from preset tip amounts, select “Other” to enter a custom tip, or choose a “Cash Tip.” Once a selection is made, they confirm by tapping Set Tip.

Tip amounts are calculated based on your configured tax and discount settings (for example, whether tips are applied before or after discounts, and with or without tax).

After setting the tip, the customer completes the transaction by paying with a credit card.
