Overview
The business name merchant DBA is located in the upper left corner of the login screen. Underneath the DBA is the Shift4 brand badging, in this case, SkyTab.
- The upper right corner displays the current date, name of the POS, station #, icons that display successful connections to your printer, database & Lighthouse, and system time.
- The printer icon turns red if not plugged in or turned on.
- The SkyTab icon turns yellow if it can’t read or write to the cloud database.
- The storage icon turns yellow when it can’t read and write to the storage device.

For the entire bar at the top:
- If it turns from black to red, this indicates a problem, such as an Ethernet issue or internet outage. Confirm that your Ethernet cable is securely plugged into the SkyTab if this happens.
- If all the text and the SkyTab icon are yellow, a sync issue is occurring. This means the POS is connected to the internet but not to Lighthouse. While it is yellow, changes made on the POS may not update on other stations. It is normal for this to display for a few moments after booting up or after the internet has been restored.

If all systems display red bars, you may need to contact your internet provider service.
- If the bar changes to yellow or red for an extended period, contact Support for assistance.
Underneath the top bar is the Message of the day, set up in Settings. Here, you can remind employees about special events, upcoming holidays, menu specials, etc.
Left side of window:
Caller ID: The Caller ID (if using this feature) displays a list of all calls that came in through the business phone line.
Item Tracking: Lists how many items are available to be sold for those items you created a counter for under the Item setup in Tracking. This helps you track how many items are available to be sold.
Online Orders: If your menu is linked to Online Ordering through Lighthouse, you can view the orders here.
Finally, at the bottom of the window, you can find the SkyTab software version, the Serial Number, and the IP Address on the left side under the PIN Pad area. The Remote Support button is on the right side under the PIN Pad area.
Login Keypad
Login by entering your 4-digit PIN or by using your swipe card.
Logout
Select Log Out in the upper left corner of the window to log out of the POS.
