Description: While you can create new menu items in SkyTab POS from scratch, it is often quicker to duplicate a similar item within the same department. Using the Duplicate function can save you time since items copy over with the correct taxes, modifiers, or modifier sets without extra configuration.
To set up on Lighthouse, visit the Create, Edit, and Duplicate Menu Items in Lighthouse Business Manager for SkyTab POS article.
To watch more how-to videos, visit our video section.
Note: You need manager permissions to complete this procedure.
-
In SkyTab POS, navigate to Manager > Settings > Menu > Items.
-
From your items list, select an item similar to your new item. In the example below, if we want to create a new salad, we can copy the Chef Salad menu item since it has the proper modifiers and modifier sets already configured.
-
Once you have selected the item to use as a template, tap on the Duplicate button.
-
Enter a name for your item in the field provided.
-
When you are finished, press Done.
Adjust Settings
Once you have duplicated your item, start by adjusting the settings on the General tab. The most common adjustments on this tab are Price and Item Cost.
On the Advanced tab, you can change the Kitchen Print Name, Description, and other settings related to printing.
Under the Accounting tab, you can make any needed adjustments to taxes, though this is not common since the taxes were already configured on your template item.
You can change quantity tracking settings on the Tracking tab.
Price Schedules has been moved to Lighthouse Business Manager.
Once you are finished making adjustments, use the Save button to save your changes.
