Description: Review how to utilize Workforce in-app messaging. Workforce provides a messaging function to enable communication with fellow employees.
The messaging feature can be found by selecting the chat icon in the top right-hand corner.
Select an individual message to expand it. You can choose to reply to the message at the bottom of the screen.
Select the ellipsis (3 dots) to bring up message options:
Send message
To send a message, select the pencil icon.
Messages can be sent to:
- Individual employee(s)
- Entire location
- Entire department(s)
Add a message title and enter your message at the bottom of the screen. You may also add an attachment if you wish. The supported attachment formats are PDF, PNG, JPEG, CSV, and MOV.
Users can opt-in to receive a push notification when they have received a new message.
Scheduler
Messages can also be sent from the Scheduler. Select the ellipsis (3 dots) beside the Employee's name and choose Message Employee. This will bring up the messaging modal with the employee's name pre-populated.
Permissions
Administrators can choose whether Employees can send messages directly to other employees. Navigate to General > Preferences under the Company menu to define this setting.
Mobile App
Messages can also be viewed and sent from the mobile app by selecting Messages in the bottom menu.
To view a message, simply select it. A reply function is available at the bottom.
Select the ellipsis (3 dots) to bring up further message options.
Send message
Select the pencil icon to bring up the New Message screen.
Choose which workers, departments, or locations you wish to send the message to.
Once you have selected these, you can enter your message and send it.
