Create or Edit a Modifier on SkyTab POS

Description: Create or edit a Modifier within the SkyTab POS system. Modifiers give you the ability to preset customization for the items selected on the Order Entry screen.

To create a modifier:

1. Navigate to Manager > Settings > Menu.
2. Select the Modifiers tab.
3. Select Add New Modifier in the lower-left corner.
4. Fill in the fields (Name, Printers, etc.).
5. Select Save.

To edit a modifier:

1. Navigate to Manager > Settings > Menu.
2. Select the Modifiers tab.
3. Select the desired modifier from the list on the left side of the screen.
4. Make the changes needed.
5. Select Save to commit the changes.

Key Terms

Active: Toggle right to activate the modifier or left to deactivate it.

Modifier Name (required): Enter a unique name for the modifier.

Printers: Assign printers here if you want an additional slip to print for the modifier.

Important: If no printer is assigned, the modifier still prints with any items this modifier is attached to.

This Modifier is Assigned To: List all modifier sets for the modifier.

1. Select Tap to edit.
2. Tap a modifier set on the left to move it to the right and allow it.
3. Select Ok to commit the changes.

Kitchen Print Name: Designate whether the modifier prints as a different name to the kitchen.

Print in Red/Bold: Print modifier in either red (Dot Matrix printer) or bold (Thermal printer); selecting this option on this screen overrides the same setting under the Modifier Sets.

Assigned Nested Modifier Sets: List the modifier sets that can be nested within the modifier; if the modifier is selected on the Order Entry screen, a sub-set opens, allowing you to add modifiers to your modifier (i.e., Side > Baked Potato > Add: Bacon).

1. Select Tap to edit in the box.
2. Tap a modifier set on the left to move it to the right.
3. Press Edit to adjust the order they appear on the Order Entry screen:
   • Use the middle arrows to move the Nest Modifier Set up or down one position.
   • Use the first and last arrows to move the Nested Modifier Set to the top or bottom.
   • Toggle Sort A-Z to put the assigned Nested Modifier Sets in alphabetical order.
4. Press Done, then Ok to commit the changes.

Duplicate: Create an additional modifier with the same attributes but requires a different name.

Delete or Remove Modifier

Note: SkyTab POS software is not capable of deleting or removing Modifiers from the menu once they are added to the POS system. The only way to remove or delete Modifiers from the menu is to make them inactive.

To deactivate the Modifer, proceed with the following steps:

1. Navigate to the Manager > Settings > Menu > Modifiers. Select the Modifier that needs to be deactivated from the left side menu by pressing on it.
2. Slide the Active toggle OFF on the top middle of the screen.
3. Press the blue Save button at the bottom right corner.
