Description: Learn how to add new or edit existing products from Register mode in Checkout without having to access Back Office from the POS or an alternate device below.
Note: The current version of the onscreen keyboard does not permit the screen to exit (hide keyboard) option. You need to use the physical keyboard so that you may select Esc (escape) key to hide the keyboard upon completion to continue to navigate on the POS where needed.
Select the Options icon located near the bottom of Register mode.
Select Product add/edit in the pop-up menu.
Note: If Product add/edit does not appear in the menu, the security access is not currently enabled for the employee.
The default Company Administrator security profile is already permitted this access. If you wish to allow an employee to also have this ability, you need to ensure the employee has a custom security profile with the proper permission on Edit/Update Products/Services enabled. Security permissions are found in Back Office in Settings, located on the right side of the screen under Employee > Access permissions. Check the box to enable and press Save to commit the changes.
If you would like to edit an existing product, manually enter or scan the product's SKU into the Search SKU field, then select Search.
Important: Checkout does not currently support searching by product code, tags, keyword, or category. If your barcodes are not programmed as the SKU and you require this feature, then you will need to reprogram your inventory to accommodate.
The product populates, where you can modify the Product name, Price, Category, Vendor, & Tax Category. When you are done editing, select the Refresh icon or Save.
Important: SKU cannot currently be modified from this screen and must be modified from the Back Officeif desired.
REQUIRED: SYNC THE POS. Although the changes have been saved locally on the POS, the data needs to sync with the cloud to function properly.
