Description: Schedule appointments with each of the service providers in the Harbortouch Salon & Spa system.
Note: This article covers features SPECIFICALLY for the Salon & Spa system. Checkout is not designed to have Booking functionality.
View an Appointment
This screen displays a calendar view of upcoming appointments for each Service Provider. The appointments are organized by Day, Week, or Resource. To see the details of an appointment, tap the appointment in the calendar, and a dialog box will appear with the appointment details.
Book an Appointment
To add a new appointment:
- Tap the “+” sign in the upper right and tap Book Appointment or double-tap on an open time slot.
- On the right side, a Book appointment bar displays.
- Tap the date displayed at the center of the page and tap the appropriate time.
- Enter the information about the appointment.
- When complete, tap Save or Save and Book More to save the appointment.
The appointment will show up on the booking calendar at the chosen date and time under the selected provider. This information is visible on all versions of the calendar, such as the POS system, Back Office, and website.
Booking Terms

Retention Type: Booking information about the customer, such as first visit, return visit, or online booking
- Edit this in the Back Office or Harbortouch Online.
- Use to determine how/if customers are returning to the salon.
- Provider: Tap the employee performing the service for this appointment.

Category: Tap the category that this service falls into.
- Use the All option if you’re unsure which category the service falls under.

Service: Tap the service that the customer wants to purchase.
- This determines the price and the allotted time for the appointment.

Resource: Use to determine which booth or station the appointment takes place at.
- Edit this in the Back Office.
- Customer: Tap the customer receiving the service.
- Standing Appointment: This allows you to make this a recurring appointment for that customer.
Additional Options
Once an appointment has been added to the calendar, tapping and holding the appointment opens a menu of Additional Options with the following options:

Check In: Note if a customer has arrived for their appointment.
- The appointment on the Booking screen is outlined in yellow if the customer has checked in.
- If done in error, tap Undo Check In.

Add to check out: Check out the customer and allow for payment of the appointment.
- The appointment is outlined in green on the Booking screen when successfully checked out.
- In the top right corner, the cart icon displays a red number circle.
- Tap the cart icon to open the register.
- To Cash Out the order: Tap Charge at the bottom of the screen, choose the desired payment/receipt method, and then close the order to process the services as a transaction.

Rebook appointment: Gives you the option of rescheduling the appointment for another date or time.
- Choose the rescheduled date and time.
- Tap Done or Book More to save the appointment.
- Edit appointment: Use this to update or change any information regarding the appointment.
- Cancel appointment: This cancels and removes the appointment from the calendar.

More Options: Provides options that are useful in determining the outcome of the appointment.
- Checked In
- Checked Out
- Confirmed
- Not Confirmed
- Left Message
- No Show
Additional Settings
Tap the gear icon in the upper left corner of the screen to open the Additional Settings screen. These options are used to show a particular department, employee, or both.
- Department: Allows you to view appointments for a specific department.
- Employee: Allows you to view appointments from a specific employee.
- Show working service providers: Shows only the employees who are scheduled to work at that time.
- Calendar grid scale: Use the slider to set the size of the calendar sections.
View the Entire Day on the Booking Screen
To view the entire day:
- From the Back Office, tap Settings > Booking settings > General settings.
- Toggle off Show only business hours. This enables the entire day to show on the Booking screen. (12 am-12 pm)
- If you are only able to see select hours on the Booking screen without scrolling up or down, you can adjust your Calendar Grid Scale.
- From the POS, tap Booking.
- Tap the Settings icon in the top left corner.
- From the pop-up window, slide the blue dot to the left until achieving the desired view.
