Shift4 Dine has a robust and unobtrusive Offline Payments mode. Whenever an issue occurs with the connection to our payment gateway, either locally or upstream, Shift4 Dine will respond quickly and efficiently by going into Offline Payments mode, with little user interaction required.
Simple messaging reduces users' need to understand complex error codes or descriptions, ensuring operations are not disrupted, and users will not be concerned about Shift4 Dine's operational reliability.
The Notification Center Operational Status Feature within Shift4 Dine provides further explanations of the Workstation capabilities and limitations when Shift4 Dine is operating in Offline Payments mode. From the Notification Center, a user can manually force Offline Payments on or off as needed.
Additionally, Shift4 Dine will notify users of any payments captured offline but not processed online older than 24 hours. A notification will appear on all terminals noting the tickets that are pending offline approval, which device is storing them, and the total value.
