Ethernet Setup
Pre-Setup: Verify Host Computer Settings
Note: Before configuring the device, verify the host computer’s network settings. These details will be used during device configuration.
- Select the Windows Start button and type CMD to open the Command Prompt.
- In the Command Prompt window, type ipconfig /all.
- Record the following information:
- DHCP Enabled (Yes or No)
- IPv4 Address (for UTG "Express" tab)
- Subnet Mask
- Default Gateway
Note: Ensure the Lane device’s network configuration aligns with these host computer settings for seamless connectivity.
Access Configuration Menu 2634
- Access the Configuration Menu from the This Lane Closed menu
- Press the buttons in sequence: 2 > 6 > 3 > 4.
- Press the F button.
- Select Tetra Admin.
- Select Configure Ethernet.
- Select IP Configuration.
Note: Configure Ethernet Settings (Using Host Computer Information and TuneUp- In the Ethernet Configuration interface, configure as follows:
- DHCP- After confirming with the merchant that they are not using DHCP, set it to OFF or Static to manually enter the IP address.
- IP Address- Enter the IP address programmed into TuneUp for the device. This is not the host IP address.

Subnet Mask- Confirm the Subnet Mask matches what is in use on the merchant’s network (this is commonly 255.255.255.0).
Note: This should match what was found during Pre-Setup: Verify Host Computer Settings -
Gateway Address- Confirm the Gateway address matches what is in use on the merchant’s network.
Note: This should match what was found during Pre-Setup: Verify Host Computer Settings. - DNS 1 Address- Set to 8.8.8.8
- DNS 2 Address- Set to 8.8.4.4
- In the Ethernet Configuration interface, configure as follows:
- Save and Reboot.
- Press the red button to exit IP Configuration.
- Press the green button to confirm and save changes.
- Press the red button again to return to the main menu.
- The device will reboot and apply the updated network settings.
- Verify and Finalize
- Re-enter IP Configuration to confirm that settings are correctly applied.
- Restart the UTG Application on the host computer.
- Confirm the device displays the Powered by SHIFT4 background image.
Troubleshooting
- Ensure the device and host are in the same network subnet.
- Confirm Ethernet and power cables are securely connected.
- Double-check DHCP status consistency between the host and device.
- Restart both the Lane device and the host computer if connectivity issues persist.

Pre-Setup: Verify Host Computer Settings
Note: Before configuring the device, verify the network settings of the host computer:
- Select the Windows Start button and type CMD to open the Command Prompt.
- In the Command Prompt window, type: ipconfig /all.
- Locate and record the following information:
- DHCP Enabled (Yes or No)
- IPv4 Address (for UTG “Express” tab)
- Subnet Mask

Important: These values will be used to configure the Lane device’s IP settings. Ensure that the DHCP status matches and that the IP Address, Subnet, and Gateway are correctly aligned.
Sorry, Lane Closed Idle Screen
- Verify the device is connected with the Ethernet/power cable.
- Wait for the "This lane is closed" message.
- On the main screen, press 0 > 0 > 0 > 1.
- Select Communication Type.
- Select 2-Ethernet and confirm with the green button. Select the Yellow < button to exit to the main admin menu screen.
- Navigate to Ethernet Parameters > IP Configuration.
- The device should connect and display the following:
- DHCP- After confirming with the merchant that they are not using DHCP, set this option to OFF or Static in order to manually enter the device’s IP address.
- IP Address- Enter the IP address that has been programmed into TuneUp for this specific device. This is not the host computer’s IP address.

Subnet Mask- Confirm that the Subnet Mask matches what is in use on the merchant’s network. This is commonly 255.255.255.0.
Note: This should match the Subnet Mask found during Pre-Setup: Verify Host Computer Settings. -
Gateway Address- Confirm that the Gateway address matches what is currently used on the merchant’s network.
Note: This should also match the Gateway value obtained during Pre-Setup: Verify Host Computer Settings. - DNS 1 Address- Set this to 8.8.8.8.
- DNS 2 Address- Set this to 8.8.4.4.
- After entering the information, select the yellow < key. A prompt “Do you want to save those changes? Select the green Enter button to accept the changes and navigate to the admin menu.
- Connection Type- Set the device to connect as a Server. Navigate to the 'Connect As' or 'Connection Type' menu, select [1] Server, and press the green O button to confirm the selection.

Port- Enter the port number used for UTG communication. This should match the value shown in TuneUp for the device.
Note: This is usually set to 12000 for Ethernet-connected Ingenico devices. - SSL Mode- Set the SSL Mode to None or Off. To do this, navigate to the SSL Mode screen and select option [1] None. This disables SSL, which is necessary for proper UTG communication.
- Press the red button to exit IP Configuration.
- Save and Reboot.
- Confirm Yes with the green button.
- The device will reboot and apply the settings.
- Restart the UTG Application.
- Confirm the device displays Powered by SHIFT4.
