Description: Learn the steps to configure a buy 3 items for $25 coupon in POSitouch.
Configuration Steps
- In POSitouch Back Office, open Quick Menu.
- Select the desired screen for the coupon to reside. (In this example, the coupon will reside on a screen labeled COUPONS.)
- Select a blank cell.
- Enter the following information:
- The name of the coupon in the Cell field.
- The desired Major and Minor categories.
- No Prep Cat in the Prep Cat field.
- 3 in the Quantity Free field.
- Select Secondary. Enable Coupon?.
- Select New Rule.
A new line will appear that says Coupon Rule 1. - Select the screen where the menu items that are eligible for the 3 for $25 can be found. (This example will be a 3 for $25 coupon in which the customer can get an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert for $25.)
- Drag the eligible menu items under Coupon Rule 1.
- Select New Rule.
Note: A new line will appear that reads Coupon Rule 2. - Select the screen where the eligible menu items exist and drag the menu items under Coupon Rule 2.
- Select New Rule.
A new line will appear that says Coupon Rule 3. - Select the screen where the eligible menu items exist and drag the menu items under Coupon Rule 3.
- Select Close.
- In Positouch, navigate to Back Office Setup > User Privilege Codes > Assign Privileges 1-8.
- Scroll down to 54-Coupons and enable the setting for the user types that can apply coupons. Select Save when complete.
- From the Back Office Main menu, select Immediate System Change.
- Select Continue.
Apply a 3 for $25 coupon at the Front of the House
- Ring up one eligible item from each category—appetizer, entrée, and dessert. The items do not need to be ordered at the same time, but all three must appear on the check before the coupon can be applied.
- Navigate to the coupons screen where the 3 for $25 coupon is located. Select 3 for $25 Coupon. Upon selecting the coupon, the price for the 3 eligible items becomes $25.
Common Issues and Troubleshooting
When I select the 3 for $25 coupon, it doesn’t apply to my check.
Ensure that the required items that need to be ordered are listed in the coupon rules and that all 3 items are on the check before applying the coupon.
I need to change an item selected for the applied coupon and I can’t delete it.
Delete the coupon from the check. Then, you will be able to delete the item that the coupon was initially applied on.
I am getting the error “Not Allowed or Delete Attached Coupon First.”
Delete the coupon from the check if you are trying to delete an item that already has the coupon applied to it. Simply delete the coupon, make necessary changes, then reapply the coupon.
