Configure a Percentage Off Coupon in POSitouch

Configure Coupons in Back Office

1.  In POSitouch back office, select Quick Menu.
   
2. Select the desired screen for the coupon to reside (e.g., the coupon will reside on a screen labeled COUPONS).
         
3.    Select a blank cell.
    
4. Under Primary,  enter the following information:
   1. Cell: The name of the coupon.
   2. Amount: 10 (for 10%)
   3. Cell Type: % Discount
   4. Major Cat: Select desired category
   5. Minor Cat: Select desired Category
   6. Prep Cat: Select No Prep Cat.
   7. Quantity Free: 2.     
      
5. Select Secondary. 
6. Select the Coupon? checkbox.
   
7. Select Primary. Select New Rule.
   
8. A new line will appear that says Coupon Rule 1. 
   
9. Select Major/Minors. Select and drag the Major/Minor of the first eligible item (e.g., all major category SANDWICHES and minor category BURGERS are eligible).
   
10. Drag the eligible minor category under Coupon Rule 1.
    
11. Select New Rule. 
    
12. Select Major/Minors. Click and drag the Major/Minor of the second eligible item (e.g., Major category Beer/Wine/Champ/Coole and Minor categories Imported, Domestic, American Boutique and Drafts are eligible). Drag the eligible Minor categories under Coupon Rule 2.  
    
13. Select Close.
    
14. In Positouch, select Back Office Setup > User Privilege Codes > Assign Privileges 1-8. 
    
15. Scroll down to 54-Coupons and enable the setting for the user types that can apply coupons. Select Save when complete.
    
16. From the Back Office Main menu, select Immediate System Change.
    
17. Select Continue.

Apply Configured Coupons

Apply a 10% off coupon when a burger and beer are ordered at the front of the house.

1. Ring up one eligible item from each category -  a burger and a beer.  The items do not need to be ordered at the same time, but both items must appear on the check before the coupon can be applied.
2.  Navigate to the Coupon screen and touch the 10% Burger & Beer coupon. The coupon will appear as a line item taking 10% off the net total of the burger & beer.  
3. Proceed as normal to send items or print the check.
   

Common Issues and Troubleshooting

When I touch the 10% Burger & Beer coupon, it doesn’t apply to my check.

Ensure that the Burger and the Beer have the correct Major and Minor categories listed in the coupon rules for this coupon.

I ordered the wrong burger, and I can’t delete it from the check.

If there is a coupon applied to the burger, remove the coupon first, then order the correct burger and reapply the coupon.
