Trends – Daily Sales Report Guide
To access this report, log in to Business Intelligence and select Productivity > Trends - Daily Sales.
Purpose of the Report
The Trends – Daily Sales Report provides a five-week trend view of key sales performance metrics.
This report allows you to analyze patterns and compare performance across the same day of the week.
Available Metrics
The report includes trends for:
- Sales: Total daily sales
- Guests: Total guest count
- Tickets: Total transactions
- Disc $: Total discount dollars
- Avg Ticket: Average ticket amount
- Sales/Gst: Sales per guest
Using the Report for Sales Projections
This report can also be used to project sales for a specific day of the week.
How to Calculate a Projection:
- Add the sales totals for the same weekday over the last 5 weeks.
- Divide the total by 5.
- The result is your projected average sales for that weekday.
Formula: (Total Sales for 5 Same Weekdays) ÷ 5 = Projected Sales
Operational Application
Use projected sales to:
- Schedule labor appropriately
- Adjust staffing levels
- Plan prep and inventory
- Set daily performance goals
When used consistently, the Trends – Daily Sales Report becomes a valuable tool for forecasting and operational planning.
