Ticket Functions on SkyTab POS

Ticket Details

Below is an overview of the different sections of an open ticket in SkyTab POS.

Header Bar (Top Row)

Back Arrow: Selecting the back arrow will not save any changes made to the check and will return you to the previous screen. Order #: Displays the ticket order number. Printer Icon: Prints a guest receipt for the current order to the local receipt printer. Kebab Menu (3 vertical dots): Opens additional ticket options and actions, such as applying taxes, adding gratuity, or accessing other ticket settings. Ticket Information Bar (Second Row)
	Displays editable ticket-level details: Order Type (Dine In, Bar, Takeout, etc.) Ticket Name Customer (if applicable) Tap any of these fields to edit them.

Item & Seat Area (Main Section)
	Table Icon (Shared Items): Items added under the table icon are shared and not assigned to a specific seat. These items can be split evenly or reassigned later if needed. Seat Positions (S1, S2, etc.): Each seat represents an individual guest. Items added under a seat are assigned specifically to that guest, making service and check splitting easier.
Action Bar (Bottom Section)
	Displays ticket-level action buttons used to commit orders, pre-authorize tabs, and complete payment. Send (Commit Button): Commits the current ticket based on the site’s configured default send option. Press and hold your Send option to view additional commit options, such as sending & staying on the ticket, returning to the Ticket Grid, starting a new ticket, or logging out. Pre-auth: Pre-authorize a credit card for a preset amount to open a bar tab. Once authorized, you can continue adding items to the ticket and complete payment later. Pay: Opens the payment screen to complete the transaction for the current ticket.

Kebab Menu Options

Guest

Manage seats on the ticket.

Adding guests allows items to be organized by seat, making service easier and simplifying check splitting.

Use the + (plus) and – (minus) buttons to add or remove seats.

Manage

Split or combine checks for the current ticket.

Due Time

Schedule when the order should be ready to help manage time-sensitive orders across POS, kitchen printers, and KDS.

Add Ticket Special Request

Enter allergy or table-specific notes for the kitchen. Special requests appear on the ticket and are printed on kitchen slips and KDS tickets.

Gratuities

Apply or remove one or more predefined gratuities to the ticket. 

Discounts

Apply discounts to the current ticket.

Taxes

Remove or restore taxes for the current ticket.
