Description: Visit the Daily Settings screen every day to ensure that all business information is accurate. You can perform a variety of functions from this screen, such as Creating a Message of the Day, Adjusting Cash Over/Short, and Accessing Daily Reports. Review these options below.
Create a Message of the Day
The Message of the Day can be used to communicate important messages to employees that appear on the login screen. Keep in mind that customers and employees may be able to read the message if your terminals are prominently placed within the location. To access this setting, from the Order Entry screen, select Manager > Daily:
- Select Message of the Day in the upper right corner.
- Use the onscreen or physical keyboard to enter your message.
- Press OK to commit the changes.
Adjust Cash Over/Short
You can keep track of whether a drawer is over or under through the expected cash, which is based on the amount of funds taken throughout the day and the amount being removed from the drawer at the end of the shift. This button can be found by accessing the Manager Screen and selecting Daily.
- Before you are able to adjust the cash, you need to Remove the Cash Drawer.
- Then, ensure you are on the Daily Tasks screen and select Adjust Cash Over/Short. This displays a new entry for this drawer showing the amount the POS calculated to be in the drawer at the time it was removed.
- To record the Cash Count, select the entry on the left to turn it red, and then choose Record on the right.
- Finally, physically count the drawer and enter the actual amount they counted from the drawer in this field.
- Once complete, click OK to commit the Actual Amount Counted. Depending on whether the drawer is over or under, the Amount Short or Amount Over displays.
Access Daily Reports
To access the Daily Reports for the Hospitality system, navigate to the Manager screen and select Daily. Then, select the Start and End dates and times in the upper left corner of the screen.
Select a Revenue Center from the drop-down menu to populate the report on the right. You can choose either to pull a report for the Entire Restaurant or just a Drawer Report. To print this report, touch Print on the lower right corner.
Note: You can also see individual employee shift reports by following the same process as above but choosing an employee from the list in the bottom right corner of the screen.
Tickets in Date Range
On the Daily Report, payments that show under the Tickets in Date Range section are payments that have been taken outside of the report's time and date parameters, but the ticket that the payment was on was closed within the date range that the report was loaded for. This usually only happens with partial payments since, normally, the ticket closes right away when paid in full.
For example, if there is a $3.00 ticket created on January 1st, $1.00 is paid on the 1st, and the other $2.00 are paid when the ticket is fully closed on the 3rd, then if you load a report for the 3rd, it shows the $1.00 under the Tickets in Date Range section and the $2.00 in the regular Transaction by Tender Type section.
