Description: Learn how to set up reservation blocks and table assignments in the Hospitality Reservations Setup Wizard.
Step 1. Setting Up Blocks
Begin by setting up your reservation blocks. Each block must be configured individually.
- Select the day you would like to configure.
- Choose the reservation block(s) for that day.
Important: The Dinner block is turned on by default for every day. If your restaurant is closed during dinner or you do not want to accept dinner reservations on a specific day, you must manually turn the Dinner block off for that day.
Repeat this process for each day of the week.
Step 2. Activating Blocks
For each day selected:
- Turn on the block(s) during which you would like to accept reservations.
- For every block turned on, specify the reservation hours.
- Repeat this process for all blocks you activate for that day.
To deactivate a block, simply turn it off.
Step 3. Assigning Tables for Blocks
After activating your blocks and setting hours, determine how many tables you would like to reserve for online reservations during each block.
To assign tables:
- Locate each Table Size listed within the block.
- Use the up and down arrows on the right to increase or decrease the number of tables allocated for reservations.
- Repeat this for every table size within that block.
- Repeat this entire process for every block you have turned on.
This step allows you to control how much of your inventory is available for reservations versus walk-ins.
Step 4. Saving your Reservation Blocks and Table Assignments
Once you have:
- Updated reservation blocks for every applicable day
- Set block hours
- Assigned tables for each active block
You are ready to save your progress.
- Select Next to save your work and move to the next section of the Setup Wizard.
- To return to this section at any time during setup, select Reservation Blocks and Table Assignments.
Step 5. Timezone
Select the Time Zone dropdown and choose the appropriate time zone for your restaurant.
Ensuring the correct time zone is selected is critical for accurate reservation scheduling.
Step 6. Intervals
The Interval feature determines how frequently reservations can be booked within each hour.
You may choose to accept reservations every:
- 15 minutes
- 30 minutes
- 60 minutes
Tip: When selecting an interval, consider your average guest traffic and table turnaround times to ensure optimal table flow and service efficiency.
To set your interval:
- Select the Interval dropdown.
- Choose your preferred option.
Once finished with this step, proceed to Reservations Setup Wizard: Part 3. Table Turnaround.
