Description: Learn how to remove ordering eligibility for a main item or modifier, display the remaining stock count for those items, remove a main item or modifier from the out-of-stock list, and mark an item as a special.

Add an Item to the Out of Stock List
- Swipe the manager's card to proceed. Alternatively, a fingerprint scan or the manager’s number and password may be used. Select Manager Screen.
- Select Out-of-stock and Specials and select Enter.
- Select RETURN.
- Select the items that are low on stock or out of stock and select View Edit.
- Select SET QUANTITIES.
- Select an item on the list and type in the remaining quantity of the item. Select RETURN when finished
(e.g., 4 Cheese Fries available; Chicken Parm unavailable). - Select PRINT if a printed list is requested and select SAVE.
- A message will appear at the top of the screen referencing a change to out-of-stocks and specials. An OUT-OF-STOCK & SPECIALS button will appear on the main screen. Select the button for an up-to-date list of items and quantities available.
- From the order screen, if an item with zero quantity is touched, a message will appear that reads “Out of Stock,” and it will not allow the item to be ordered.
- When ordering an item with a limited quantity, the count will decrease each time the item is ordered (e.g., Aunty Ida’s Chicken 7 to 6).
Remove an Item From the Out of Stock List
- Swipe the manager's card to proceed. Alternatively, a fingerprint scan or the manager’s number and password may be used. Select Manager Screen.
- Select Out-of-stock and Specials and select ENTER.
- Select the item that is now in stock and select DELETE to remove it from the Out of Stock list. Select SAVE (e.g. Chicken Parm is deleted and is now available to be ordered again).
Out of Stock Modifiers
- Swipe the manager's card to proceed. Alternatively, a fingerprint scan or the manager’s number and password may be used. Select Manager Screen.
- Select Out-of-stock and Specials and select Enter.
- To add a modifier to the out-of-stock and special list, order an item that has the modifier attached to it (e.g., the Meatball and Pasta has a Penne modifier).
- When penne is ordered, select View Edit. The Penne modifier will appear with a quantity of zero.
- If penne is out of stock, simply select SAVE, and the penne will show a quantity of zero on the order screens to alert servers that penne is out of stock.
- If there are remaining servings of penne, select SET QUANTITIES and enter the quantity to reflect the servings remaining and select SAVE.
- When a server takes an order for an item with a pasta choice, the penne will show a quantity of zero and will restrict the server from ordering the penne.
Highlight an Item as a Special
- Swipe the manager's card to proceed. Alternatively, a fingerprint scan or the manager’s number and password may be used. Select Manager Screen.
- Select Out-of-stock and Specials and select Enter.
- Select RETURN.
- Select the item(s) that will be a special and select VIEW EDIT.
- Select the item and select SET QUANTITIES.
- Enter a quantity of 999 on any item to be designated as a special and select RETURN. The quantity will now show SPEC.
- Select SAVE.
- A message will appear on the order screen to acknowledge a change to the out-of-stock and specials. Items marked as specials will appear on the order screens with the word special.
Back Office Settings
Out of Stock, Quit Without Sending
- From the Back Office Setup Menu, navigate to Restaurant Misc Data > System 1.
- Select the Out of stock quit without sending? checkbox.
This allows servers to reserve available items from the out-of-stock list and exit before sending them. When this flag is active, a server can reserve items, blocking other servers from ordering those same items. - If any back-office changes were made, select Immediate System Change from the back office main menu.
- Select Continue.
- Servers will see a “Must SEND or DELETE specials” message if they attempt to quit when the Out of stock quit without sending? checkbox is unchecked.
Allow Out of Stock to Carry Forward to the Next Day
- From the Back Office Setup Menu, navigate to Restaurant Misc Data > System 1.
- Select the Allow Out of Stock carry forward to next day checkbox to have the items on the Out of Stock and Specials list carry forward to the next day, and select OK.
With this flag enabled, any specials or out-of-stock items will remain on the list until they are manually deleted or changed. - If any back-office changes were made, select Immediate System Change from the back office main menu.
- Select Continue.
