Description: It's a good idea to set the Windows Service Recovery options for the Universal Transaction Gateway (UTG), so you have a safety net if the UTG service was to crash for any reason. If it keeps crashing, then the UTG definitely needs your attention.
To enable Windows Service Recovery options:
- Visit the Start menu, and in the search bar, type Services.msc and select Enter.
- Locate the Shift4 UTG2 Service.
- Double-click the service or right-click and select Properties.
- Select the Recovery tab.
Choose one:
Restart the UTG Service After a Failure:
- Select Restart the Service in the First Failure Setting.
- Select Apply, then select OK.
Restart as UTG Stand Alone After a Failure:
- Select Run a Program in the First Failure Setting.
- Set the Run Program field to the install directory for the UTG Stand Alone application.
- By default, this is typically C:\Shift4\UTG2\Utg2.exe.
- Select Apply, then select OK.
