What is causing this Error?
The error 9956 terminal ID ### not configured for any PIN Pad will come up when the Universal Transaction Gateway (UTG) does not have a device configured with a Terminal ID (TID) that matches the TID that the Point of Sale (POS) is sending. The error message itself will identify what TID the POS is sending.
How do I resolve this Error?
- Go to the UTG server and stop the current instance of the UTG or Stop Stand-Alone Mode for Universal Transaction Gateway.
- Open the UTG TuneUp.
- Go to the Devices tab and double-click on the device in question to edit it.
- Locate the box titled API Terminal ID.
- Ensure that the TID in the API Terminal ID box matches what is being sent by the POS. This should be the TID found in the error message.
- Select OK to exit the edit device window.
- Select Save to exit the UTG TuneUp.
- Restart the UTG or Start the UTG (v2) Stand Alone.
- Test another transaction.
