Description: Learn how to create or modify job types such as server, bartender, or dishwasher, as well as customize settings for these jobs, in the Hospitality POS system below.
Adding or Editing Jobs
To add or edit jobs, navigate to Manager > Jobs to access the Jobs screen:
- To create a new job, select New in the lower-left corner of the screen to access the Edit Job screen.
- To edit an existing job:
- Select the job from the list on the screen.
- Press Edit in the lower-left corner of the screen.
Once the desired additions or changes are complete, select OK, and the newly defined Job now appears on the job list and may now be assigned to employees through the Employee menu.
Changing the Order of the Jobs List
You can edit the order of the listed jobs by selecting the job from the list:
- Use the Move Up and Move Down buttons right to change the location of the job within the list.
- Selecting Move to Top or Move to Bottom will move the job to either first or last on the list, respectively.
Jobs can also be alphabetized quickly by choosing the ABC button on the right.
Job Options
On the Edit Job screen, you can fill in as much or as little information as you would like. The only required fields are:
- Job Name
- Pay Rate (0 can be used if this job is not tracked for labor purposes)
Once done, click OK at the bottom of the screen. You may also select Save as New to save the current job and immediately begin creating another job with the same options selected.
Note: You will need to enter a new Name, Description, and Pay Rate when utilizing Save as New.
Job Security Permissions
Below is an explanation of each of the permissions available when creating or editing a job:
- Blind Job: This type of job does not allow the user to view any shift report on their Personal Page; however, they can still access all other options (if applicable).
- User can clock out: Allows the user to clock themselves out from their Personal Page.
- This Job: Determines what the user sees when they login to the system:
- Logs in and out normally: Logs the user directly into the basic Order Entry view with access to available tickets and the system menu.
- Logs in and out to List View: When the user logs into the system, they are taken directly to a page with all of the available tickets and ticket management options.
- Logs in and does not auto-logout: This job can ignore the auto-logout feature and stay logged in regardless of the duration.
- Logs in directly to the personal page (Dishwasher Mode): This job will only be able to view their personal page to access their time clock, personal reports, and message system (if applicable).
- Allow Fast Pay: Allows the user to utilize the Fast Pay buttons when taking payments.
- Allow List View: Allows the user to view tickets in a list format with additional options available for managing the tickets (Recommended Jobs: Shift Manager, Manager, ad Waitress, etc.).
- This job is a Bartender: Allows employees with this job to ignore any required modifier sets.
- Allow Tickets Needing Tip to be Hidden: Users can hide tickets that require tips.
- Transfer ticket when barcode is scanned: Allows a ticket to be transferred to a user with this job when the barcode at the bottom of a receipt is scanned.
- Automatically Print Delivery on Transfer: Makes a ticket automatically print when it is transferred to a user with this job (Recommended Job(s): Delivery driver).
- This job does not declare tips at clockout: Determines whether or not an employee with this job declares their tips for the day when they clock out for their shift.
- Users doing this job have access to All Tickets: Allows the user to view all tickets owned by any employee (Recommended Job(s): Manager, Cashier, Owner).
- Users doing this Job can Hold Items: Allows the user to place a ticket on a Kitchen Hold.
- Default Section: This job’s employees automatically populate in the section chosen within the dialog box when utilizing Host Mode or choosing a table for a ticket.
- Favorite Reports: Allows the user to access specific reports regarding their job easily.
- Useful in differentiating necessary reports that different types of managers or coordinators would need to access, making for an easier and more personalized reporting structure.
- Allow Remote Printing to these Printers: Prints to specific remote printers when a ticket is committed.
- Access Most Recently Closed Ticket: Allows the user to view the most recently closed ticket on the POS system:
- Reopen last ticket closed: Allows the user to easily reopen the last ticket that was opened using the Reopen Last button at the bottom of the Order Entry screen.
- Print last ticket closed: Allows the user to quickly print the last ticket that was opened using the Print Last button located at the bottom of the Order Entry screen.
- If User has All Ticket Privileges: If the employee has all ticket privileges under their Employee Security Settings, they can select one of the following options:
- Transactions stay with this user: User retains all tickets under their own account when paying out the ticket.
- Transactions stay with the Ticket Owner: User can pay out tickets, but they stay under the corresponding employee’s name.
- Do not allow payments on other users’ tickets: User cannot make payments on another user’s tickets.
- Users can see Ticket Status: User can see where in the order process a ticket is currently.
- Users can use Host Mode: Gives access to the Host Mode feature on the POS system.
