Add a New Choice in Hospitality

Description: Add a new choice in Hospitality and explore the options available when editing those choices.

To access this section of the POS:

1. Select Manager in the upper right corner of the Order Entry screen.
2. Select Menu > Choices (the screen will default to Menu Items).

To add a choice:

1. Select New at the bottom of the screen.

To edit an existing choice:

1. Select the choice from the right side of the screen.
2. Press Edit at the bottom of the screen to open the Edit Choice window.
3. Make the desired changes to the choice.
4. Select OK when complete to commit the changes.

Note: Select Save as New to save the current choice but keep the Edit Choice screen open to allow for the continued addition of choices into the system.

Choices available to edit include: 

• Choice Name: Enter a descriptive name that allows you to easily recognize the choice. 
• Active: Place a check in this box to enable the choice to be selected on the Order Entry screen. 
• Alternate Kitchen Print Name: When information is added to this field, the text is printed on the kitchen receipts only. 
• Choice SKU: If the item has a particular SKU attached, add the numbers to the box. 
• Choice Cost: Enter what this choice costs you to allow the system to track expenses incurred by your restaurant for each choice. 
• Is Part of These Choice Sets: Allows you to select the preprogrammed choice sets that this choice belongs in by tapping the box, selecting the appropriate choice sets, and selecting OK. 
• Prints on these Printers: Allows you to select the preprogrammed printers that this choice belongs in by tapping the box, selecting the appropriate printers, and selecting OK. 
• Has these Sub-Choice Sets: Determines if there are any nesting choice sets within the choice that appear when selected by tapping the box, selecting the appropriate choice sets, and selecting OK. 
• Choice Sets Course: Assigns the choice to a specific course.
• Price Modifier: Determines the price of this choice in either a fixed amount or percentage. This can be overridden by the choice set unless Override Choice Set Price is selected.
• This choice prints in red: Prints the choice in red when sent to a printer (Dot Matrix printers only).
