Set Up Where an Item Prints in QSR & Delivery

Description: In QSR & Delivery, you can set up an Item Group for an Item and assign the Item Group to a Printer for printing. The Item Group an item is assigned to determines where it prints.

The Item Group can be set up under the menu item’s properties and can be adjusted at any time. Therefore, the Item Group assigned to an item is important in regard to the printing order.

If you need to create a new item group, set one up first via the instructions in the linked article. Then, you may set that group to the item. 

Because the printers can only print by item group, an item’s setup is required for it to print correctly. Once the item group is created and linked to menu items, you need to assign that item group to a printer (or printers) for remote printing. 

Assign Item Groups to a Printer for Printing

Item groups are assigned to specific printers in the Printer Setup Screen, found in Database Settings.

1. To access these settings, log in to the system and navigate to Admin > Config Tools > Database Settings. Select the Printer Setup button at the lower-right of the Database Settings screen.
2. Here, you can configure prints as Expediter or Kitchen prints. This is where you set up the Item Groups that print to which printer and the order they will print.
