Description: Learn to enable or disable the mouse cursor on a Simphony workstation. This setting is commonly turned on for PC-based stations (e.g., hostess desks) and turned off for Oracle MICROS hardware (e.g., WS4).
Some Simphony workstations (especially PC-based setups) need the mouse cursor visible for navigation. By default, Oracle MICROS terminals hide the cursor. Use this setting to toggle the cursor display per workstation.
Enable or Disable Mouse Cursor
Follow the steps below to enable or disable the mouse cursor for a specific workstation:
- Open EMC.
- Select the Property.
- Select the Setup tab.
- Navigate to Hardware/Interfaces > Clients and Printing > Workstations.
- Double-click the workstation you want to modify.
- Select the Options tab
- Select Display/Security.
- Locate option 33 – Show Cursor and set the checkbox as needed:
- Enabled (box checked): Shows the mouse cursor on this workstation. Recommended for PC-based setups such as hostess stations.
- Disabled (box not checked): Hides the mouse cursor. Default for WS4 and Oracle MICROS hardware.
- Select Save.
Note: Enabling the cursor does not impact POS functionality.
Note: For PC touchscreen setups, enabling the cursor can assist with training or accessibility needs.
