Description: Learn to add, edit, or deactivate a user for your business using Oracle People Management.
Note: If an EMC password reset is all that is needed, view Micros Reset the EMC Password in Oracle People Portal .
Add a New User
- Sign in to Reporting and Analytics, select the side navigation menu, select People, and then select Add Person.
- Enter details to uniquely identify the person, such as their name, user name, and email address.
An email address is mandatory if the user is assigned an enterprise role granting cloud access, a Payment role, or an employee Point of Sale (POS) role granting access to any Enterprise Management Console (EMC) or FLM module or EMC Actions. If a user already has an email address saved in the system, it cannot be removed.
- Choose the appropriate Enterprise Role and Enterprise Level from the drop-down lists.
- Select Save and Continue.
The page will refresh to show additional tabs based on your enterprise's cloud setup. Complete any relevant tabs:- Employment: Use this to specify labor settings if your enterprise uses Labor Management.
- Application Settings: Use this to grant access to Oracle Restaurants Payment Service, Simphony Inventory, and reporting data.

Point of Sale: Use this to grant or restrict access to POS operations (like workstation operations) and Simphony EMC operations.
Edit an Existing User
- Sign in to Reporting and Analytics and select the application navigation icon to open the side panel menu.
- Select People to find and open the specific employee's record.
- Navigate to areas like Manage Employment Information or specific configuration tabs to update the user's details.
Deactivate an Existing User
- Sign in to Reporting and Analytics, select the side panel menu, and select People.
- Find the employee and navigate to Manage Employment Information within their record.
- Navigate to the Status tab and select the radio button for Terminated.
- Navigate to Location Configuration, and then select the POS Configuration tab.
- Locate the Magnetic Card Number field and wipe out the ID.
Important: Do not leave this field as a zero; you must completely backspace through the numbers to leave it blank. - Select Update, and then select Save to save the record. The system will automatically deactivate the old employee.
- Once the employee view becomes grayed out, select Cancel to exit.
