Description: Learn how SkyTab operates in Spain, where fiscalization is mandatory under Verifactu regulations. SkyTab integrates with the Tax Authority through an approved fiscal provider to ensure transactions are reported in real time and comply with local fiscalization laws (Verifactu).
Availability: Spain
At this time, SkyTab support is limited to Spanish territories governed by the VeriFactu framework. This covers all regions of Spain except the Basque Country (Álava, Bizkaia, and Gipuzkoa) and Navarra, which operate under separate fiscal regulations.
Important: Once a ticket is closed in Spain, it is immediately reported to the Tax Authority and becomes a legally issued invoice. Closed tickets cannot be reopened, voided, or modified.
Key Differences in Spain
- Instant Fiscalization: Instant Invoice data transmission to Tax Authorities.
- No Ticket Re-opening: Strict data immutability. Once a ticket is closed (paid), it is a legal tax document. It cannot be reopened, voided, or modified. To fix a mistake, you must issue a Refund ticket - a separate Rectificative Invoice (negative invoice).
-
Invoice Flexibility:
- Spain Flow: The “receipt” is a legal invoice.
- Simplified Invoice: Standard receipt (anonymous).
- Complete Invoice: A formal tax invoice requiring customer data (Name, Address, Tax ID).
- Spain Flow: The “receipt” is a legal invoice.
- Visual Verification (The Receipt): Receipt must display a Fiscal QR Code and a specific Fiscal Invoice Series/Number. Customers use this to audit the restaurant’s tax compliance in real-time.
- Tax Setup: Strict Mapping. Every tax rate in the POS must map to a specific fiscal tax type in the fiscal middleware. If a tax isn’t assigned to the item revenue class, the POS literally cannot sell that item, and the invoice signing will fail.
High-Level Transaction Flow
