Description: Price leveling may be applied on an Item Group (i.e., all sandwiches have the sale priced modifiers) or on each individual Menu item (i.e., Chicken Salad SW and BLT SW have different prices for the same modifiers). Only one choice set per item group or one choice set per menu item can be modified using price leveling.
Important: You cannot apply Price Leveling to multiple Choice Sets like whole and half toppings that both need modifications. This feature could only be utilized if you had ONE “Toppings” choice set and did not offer half-topping options.
Item Group Price Levels
If all menu items within an item group (ex., Sandwiches) have modifiers that charge the same amount (i.e., Tomato on every sandwich is $0.35, and adding chicken on every sandwich is $3.00), choice prices may be set at the item group level. Below outlines how to add a choice set to an item group price level:
Note: Item group pricing will override any price level set on an individual menu item.
Once you have created the desired Choice Sets and Choices, navigate to Manager > Menu > Item Groups and select Edit on the item group you would like to add price leveling to:
- Select Price Level in the lower-left corner of the Edit Item Group page.
- This will show you a list of available choice sets.
- Make your selection and press OK.
Once the price level option is chosen, select Customize to alter the default price of the applicable choices within the set:
- Select the desired choice.
- Set either a monetary price or a percentage of the original price for each item.
- After entering the price under Set Price, press Apply.
Repeat this process for each individual choice. After each choice is priced, click the OK button to commit.
Menu Item Price Levels
If not all items within the same Item Group have the choices that charge the same amount (i.e., Tomato on a BLT sandwich is $0.00 and on a Tuna sandwich is $0.35), you can set new choice prices at the individual item level. Review how to add a choice set to a menu item price level below.
Note: Item group pricing will override any price level set on an individual menu item.
Once you have created the desired Choice Sets and Choices, you can then navigate to Manager > Menu > Menu Item and select Edit on the item you would like to add price leveling to:
- Select Price Level in the upper right corner of the Edit Menu Item screen.
- This shows you a list of available choice sets.
- Make your selection and press OK.
Once the price level option is chosen, selecting Customize will allow you to alter the default process of the applicable choices within the set:
- Click on the desired choice.
- Set either a monetary price or a percentage of the original price for the item.
- After entering the price under Set Price, press Apply.
Repeat this process for each individual choice. After each choice is priced, click the OK button to commit.
