Description: Price Levels in QSR & Delivery are used when creating menu items and can denote different prices for modifiers depending on the base item (i.e., a Large Calzone vs. a Small Calzone). Refer to the example below.
For more information, visit the Create Menu Items article.
We’ll make two new Menu Items, one called Large Calzone and another called Small Calzone:
- The Small Calzone will be set to Price Lvl 1, while the Lg Calzone will be set to Price Lvl 2. When we do this, all Price Level options on the right side of the screen will disappear except for Price Lvl 1. Price level 1 on these items is the base price that will be charged for these items without modifiers. While the Price level that we set tells this item what Price level to look for when ringing in a modifier.
- Next, we’ll make several modifiers such as pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, onions, etc. We’ll leave the price level on the left blank (we need to, as these are modifiers) and on the right, we’ll set Price Level 1 to $0.50 and Price Level 2 to $1.00. So even though the modifier has two price levels, it will only use the price level assigned to it by the base item.
This allows us to use the same Chain and the same Modifiers to ring in at different prices on different items.
It prevents us from having to create different menu items in order to add different sized/priced toppings by allowing us to reuse the same modifiers by applying pricing to a level. This is a major benefit to QSR’s menu building.
