Description: Review the different information options found on the Server Summary screen and how to perform some basic tasks within it below.
Server Summary Screen
The Server Summary screen is used to view and manage server information within the QSR & Delivery POS System. You can access the Server Summary screen by logging into the system and selecting Admin > Server Summary from the main screen.
Below, review a list of the servers that have placed orders either under Table Service or Bar Service sections during the current business day. In this example, there is only one, so click on that server/bartender. After clicking on the server, the system shows you that server’s individual report.
Individual Server Report
Below is a copy of the Server Summary report. On the right side of the screen, there are several options. In this report, “Bank” + (positive), “Drop” – (negative), Payment Information, SETTLE SERVER, Print Report, Print Tips Report, Cash Tip Entry, and Calculator.
- Bank: When a server does not have enough cash, the restaurant needs to give the server money or what’s known as a “bank.” This is reflected as an addition to the money owed to the restaurant because you have added more money to the server’s original amount
-
Drop: When a server has more cash on them than needed or desired.
- If a drop is made, it subtracts the amount of money the server owes the restaurant.
- A drop is then subtracted from the server’s total due restaurant since he/she has already removed that money from his/her person.
- Payment Information: This is a report which shows all of the payments (or sales) associated with all delivery orders. A user may enter tips on credit cards or view the payments receives thus far.
- Settle Server: This button is used to settle your server and mark the server’s transactions as finalized. Any cash due to the restaurant or cash due to the employee can be adjusted at the cash drawer of the station the server/driver is assigned.
- Print Report: This button allows the user to print the server’s report on the local receipt printer.
- Print Tips Report: This button allows the user to print the server’s tip report on the local receipt printer.
- Cash Tips Entry: This button allows the user to log the Cash Tips associated with that server’s current shift, to be cataloged with their shift, and report for tracking purposes.
- Calculator: This button brings up the virtual calculator allowing the user to do some math without needing a physical one. This is a quick shortcut in the event that you need to run some numbers and have no other means of doing so.
Settle a Server and Close the Shift
The SETTLE SERVER button closes out the Server Summary report and is required before the End of Day can be done.
- Select the SETTLE SERVER button, and the system will prompt you with a warning that this will close all of the server’s checks.
Important: The message alerts you that you will be unable to adjust any of the Credit Card sales or tips associated with this server’s shift. Therefore, entering the server’s tip first is required; otherwise, they will need a CCRF.
By default, any money due to the restaurant is migrated into the cash drawer of the terminal that you are using to settle the driver. Adversely, if the server is owed money by the restaurant, the money is pulled from the cash drawer of the terminal that you are using to settle the server.
Internal:
If the merchant does not want the money to catalog on the cash drawer, you will need to adjust the System Settings associated with the Server Drop to the Cash Drawer.
- Press Yes to confirm you wish to proceed with driver settlement. A message displays indicating the amount of money the server owes or is due that will be added to or removed from the cash drawer respectively.
- If you wish to proceed, press Yes to adjust the Cash Drawer. If you have disabled the settling which adjusts the cash drawer when settling a server, you will not see this message.
If there are no credit card tips to report (meaning, no tips were added to the credit card sales taken by that server for Table or Bar service), there will be a popup message letting you know this information.
Once completed, a message will appear, letting you know the server has been successfully settled.
That server will no longer show up underneath the Server Summary screen, indicating that the server’s shift has been settled for the day (or shift) and the money has been distributed correctly.
Find a Previously Settled Server Summary Report
- Select Access Admin > Server Summary > View History.
- Select the Server (left column) and choose the shift you wish to view (right column).
- Press View Report to bring up a copy of the server’s report.
Below is an example of a shift report that had previously been settled out.
