Description: Review how to configure two receipts to print out for the QSR & Delivery system below.
- Confirm the First Copy is Set to Print
- Configure the Item Prints on Expediter Printer
- Configure the Expediter Service Types
- Optional/Additional Customization Settings for Exp Receipts
Confirm the First Copy is Set to Print
First, ensure the first receipt copy is set to print on that station’s receipt printer. This can be done by simply choosing the option to have that receipt printer print a copy of the receipt when the order is submitted. To do this,
- Log in to the system and navigate to Admin > Config Tools > Database Settings.
- Click the Printer Setup option on the right.
- Make sure that 'Automatically Print Receipt When Submitting An Order' is checked.
This will be the first receipt printer copy that the system will print out on that station.
Configure the Item Prints on Expediter Printer
Next, set up the item groups to print on the Expediter Printer. Although we will be printing out a second “receipt,” we still need to configure this like a Kitchen Printer because technically, this is a workaround to reproduce a second receipt copy.
- From the Printer Setup page, select Expediter Printer Setup from the navigation buttons at the top.
- On the Expediter Printer Setup screen, use the drop-down bar to select the desired receipt printer.
- In this example, we will be using Receipt1 for the setup.
- Next, move over all item groups in desired print order onto the Selected Group section of the windows.
- Make sure you have all groups and coupon groups added that you want to print. In general, for a receipt printer, you will want all groups, including coupons.
- Now that all item groups have been assigned to the printer, we want to emulate a “receipt copy” as best as possible versus it looking like a kitchen copy. To do this, we want to ensure the two options at the top are checkmarked as shown in the image below.
-
-
- “Print Headers and Footers”
- “Print Check Totals”
-
- Press Save Settings to save the changes to the Expediter Printer configuration.
- You will need to enter your PIN to save the settings, so make sure to do this. QSR will show a popup letting you know the settings were saved successfully.
- Press OK to dismiss the popup message.
- Press Exit to return to the regular Printer Setup screen.
Configure the Expediter Service Types
From the Printer Setup screen, select the Show Expediter Service Types button to open this section.
From our example, we configured the “Receipt1” printer to print the duplicate receipts. Now, we will check off the Receipt1 printer on each Service Type to print a second copy.
- If you only desire certain Services Type to print a second receipt, select the desired types only.
- If you want a second copy to print regardless of Service Type, select all available services types.
- Once configured, press the Save Settings button to save your changes.
- You will be prompted for your PIN to confirm the save.
- After your settings have been successfully saved, QSR will display a confirmation popup message indicating such.
- Press OK to dismiss the popup message and press Exit to escape the Expediter Service Types setup screen.
Optional/Additional Customization Settings for Exp Receipts
There are additional settings specifically for the actual print of the Expediter receipt itself. QSR offers a variety of customization options for how the receipt is formatted and what information will print on the receipt itself.
For additional information on customizing the Expediter Receipt settings, visit the QSR: Expediter Printer Settings article.
